online working bee for Palestine

ABOUT THE EVENT

Join the resistance via Zoom to collectively work through some actions for Palestine, as outlined in DEiFY’s Palestine Action toolkit.

We’ll be looking at all the actions we can do from home - emailing politicians, checking super funds, purchasing e-Sims, amplifying and following Palestinian voices, getting updated on upcoming local actions, etc.

This will be a supportive, community space - we encourage you to bring your grief and rage, let’s channel it into actions together!

Date: Tuesday, 19th March

Time: 6:30pm-8pm AEST (7:30pm-9pm AEDT)

Location: Zoom only - zoom link will be sent to your email one day prior to the event

FIRST PEOPLES FIRST

this event, like all our events, will be held on unceded aboriginal land. we pay our respects to the elders, lores and customs of this place, and recognise that these lands have always been a place of learning, community and resistance. sovereignty was never ceded.

ACCESSIBILITY

this event is zoom only (no in-person meeting) so it will be entirely covid-safe. we will be using the zoom automated 'captioning' function, but acknowledge that this is not 100% accurate. if you need quiet at any point or to remove yourself from the space for any reason at any time, please feel free to and we are able to add people back into the zoom. we also disclose and apologise that we are regrettably unable to provide auslan for this event - if you are able to volunteer AUSLAN translation for this event, or if you have any other accessibility concerns you would like to raise with us, please contact us at theresistance.qld@gmail.com.

THE RESISTANCE

‘the resistance’ is a racialised and queer collective. we are focused on building community and facilitating collective exploration of radical politics on unceded aboriginal land. our organising began on yuggera/yugambeh land, and has now spread across so-called australia
