Description

Getting Gallery Ready is a workshop series for visual artists who want to know the secret to getting their work into galleries.

Over the course of three sessions, you’ll learn how galleries choose artists, how to prepare a strong portfolio, and how to price and present your work directly from experts in the field.

Our guest speakers are:

  • Kat Kitch, First Nations Creative Development Officer at Murray Arts: Kat previously worked at the LibraryMuseum in Albury, and spends their time at Murray Arts creating exhibitions that share the rich histories, cultures, and experiences of First Nations people. Kat has designed resources for artists that provides practical tips for getting their work exhibited and will be sharing this expertise at this workshop.

  • Rachel Parsons, Director of the New England Regional Art Museum: Rachel has over 15 years' experience as a curator, educator and academic. For this workshop series, she is bringing her expertise to help artists understand what regional galleries look for when choosing artists for their exhibitions.

  • Lizzie Horne, Artist & foundation member of the Black Gully Printmakers: Lizzie is a printmaker, represented by Michael Reid Gallery and has experience running her own commercial art space. She is bringing her expertise from both the artist and gallery perspective on navigating the commercial art world to this workshop.

We hope you can join us!
