Online Workshop: School, friendships and FASD
Description
School, friendships and FASD
This session looks at how children and young people with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) experience friendships and social situations, and what helps them take part and learn at school and in the community. We will consider some of the reasons these areas can be difficult, including understanding behaviour, and look at practical ways carers and educators can help children build and keep friendships, manage social situations, and have good experiences at school.
This session is presented by Prue Walker, an experienced social worker specialising in Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). The series is designed for permanent care and adoptive families, with each 20-minute session focusing on a different aspect of FASD, followed by time for questions and discussion.
