Only Clowns Production Donation Thank you for supporting Only Clowns. Here is our story, Only Clowns was inspired by a local newspaper’s misstep, which mistakenly associated Artistic Director Gaea Asteria Anastas’s performer identity with sex work. Instead of shying away from the incident, our creative powers subverted the incident, to reclaim the clown as a fetishised, high-status figure to be celebrated. Through humour and absurdity, Only Clowns explores the clown as a sexually stimulating object while delivering sharp commentary on societal pitfalls, fostering connection, inclusivity, and a cheeky mission to "make clowning sexy again."
Co-produced by local freelance artists and The Silly Town Circus, a WA performance collective where live art meets entertainment, Only Clowns embodies the spirit of rebellion, community, and creative expression.
As a self-funded production, your support helps us share our art authentically, ethically pay our artists, and continue creating boundary-pushing performances. Thank you for helping us keep independent art alive!
