This year, we're taking a moment to say thank you — to the volunteers who've given their time, energy, and heart to make Oot & Aboot what it is.
Join us for a relaxed lunch in the park, potluck-style, as we celebrate our amazing volunteers with certificates and a proper thank-you from the board. And then, because good things are better shared, we're opening the afternoon up to the whole Oot community — Ooters, allies, friends and family — to come along, bring a dish, and celebrate with us.
What to expect:
A heartfelt thank-you and certificate presentation for our 2026 volunteers
A relaxed, no-pressure potluck lunch — bring a dish to share if you're joining the community session
Good company, good food, and good vibes in the great outdoors
What to bring:
A plate of food to share (savoury, sweet, snacks — whatever you love to bring to a potluck!)
A picnic blanket or chair
Yourself, and anyone you'd like to bring along

This is a free event, open to volunteers, participants, allies, and anyone keen to be part of the Oot community. Please RSVP so we can get a sense of numbers for the day.

Unfortunately we're unable to accommodate pets, though registered assistance animals are welcome.

This is a free event.
- Is this event accessible for people with mobility needs?
Our events take place in outdoor environments across various locations in Victoria, which may involve uneven ground and bush walking. Some venues may not meet all accessibility needs. As a 100% volunteer-run charity, we are not able to guarantee accessibility assistance. We encourage you to contact us in advance at hello@ootandabootoutdoors.org.au to discuss whether a specific event is right for you. If you feel you may need support on the day, we encourage you to bring a carer or support person.
- Can you cater for dietary requirements or allergies?
As a 100% volunteer-run charity, we are not able to guarantee accommodation of specific dietary or allergy requirements. We encourage you to contact us in advance at hello@ootandabootoutdoors.org.au to discuss whether this event is right for you. Please ensure your own needs are met by bringing food that suits your requirements.
- What if the weather is bad?
This event will go ahead in light rain. In the case of severe weather, updates will be texted to your mobile. Please check before heading out.
