Event description
OPEN CHRISTCHURCH 2023: History and context of Edmonds Band Rotunda with Laura Pyne
Join Laura Pyne, landscape architect, for a talk on the Edmonds Band Rotunda and its role in the Riverbank Improvement Scheme. Find out more about Edmonds’ role in our city through business and philanthropic endeavours, and other civic improvement projects. Get the story behind the design, structure and materials of the rotunda and understand the challenges it faced in the earthquakes and what it took to reinstate it.
Laura Pyne
Laura Pyne is from Christchurch and spent many years living abroad in Sydney, which has contributed to her strong appreciation for the fundamental roles landscape, architecture and design have in enriching our everyday lives. This concept is something she has actively engaged with in her professional capacity as a Landscape Architect with Boffa Miskell Ltd here in Christchurch. Her primary role however, as a mum to two young children, keeps her on her toes and is her biggest passion of all.
