Open Christchurch 2023: Gustorob
Event description
OPEN CHRISTCHURCH 2023: Gustorob
Architects: Bull O’Sullivan, 2021
Gustorob has three generations living in two homes under one roof in an expression of how multigenerational living could work here in Aotearoa. Arranged along an east-west axis, the house progresses from the east, where Gus the toddler lives, through to the west where Rob, his grandad, resides. An unassuming, rigorous exterior contrasts with interior warmth, exuded through native timber. Compression and expansion, inside and outside, private and public are all accommodated in the curved form.
