Speaker: Dr Helena Vitoshkin, Volcani Institute - Agricultural Research Organization of Israel.

Seminar Title: Open field solar energy system (Agrivoltaics) with innovative spectral beam-splitting solar collector

Moderator: Dr Yoni Nazarathy, University of Queensland

Dr Helena Vitoshkin has research interests in:

-Development of efficient closed plant production systems
-Investigation of hydrophobic greenhouse cover materials properties (light transmittance, diffusivity, heat transfer, condensation and dust removal)
-Empirical study of greenhouse control of flow, temperature and shading
-Computational modelling of mass transfer in porous media for the purpose of soil fertilizers release optimization.

This seminar series showcases Israeli academics and some Australian counterparts to exchange knowledge and foster research collaboration between Israel and Australia.

The talks are for a broad audience, and are 15 to 20 mins long and followed by a question and answer session.

Mission: International collaboration is vital for advancing knowledge, addressing global challenges, and fostering cooperation and understanding among researchers and institutions worldwide. In this series we focus on strengthening ties between Israeli scholars and Australian institutions, through a series of accessible short talks. We keep politics out of the series and focus on the science and scholarly work.

Hosts: This seminar series is hosted by Dr Yoni Nazarathy and Jo Savill from the University of Queensland, Australia.
