Albany Community Hospice is an eight-bed private hospital located next to the Albany Health Campus in Albany and provides specialist palliative care in a home-like environment at any stage of a person’s palliative care journey. Care at Hospice is free. Hospice has become a leader in the provision of specialised palliative care, offering a place of peace, acceptance and safety where everyone is supported and cared for with dignity through their end-of-life choices.
Albany Community Hospice is the only community-run hospice in Western Australia and is committed to providing free palliative care as it has done since its inception in 1990. There is always an annual shortfall in funds to operate Hospice. The shortfall last financial year was over $800,000. Albany Community Hospice therefore relies on community fundraising and donations to meet the annual shortfall.
Through amazing fundraising efforts from all areas of our community, including donations, Hospice is able to continue to offer free palliative care. Albany Community Hospice is very grateful for the community support that comes together to make Open Gardens Albany a reality.
Thank you to all involved in this year’s event. Albany Community Hospice is extremely appreciative of your support and that of the many people who take the time to enjoy the wonderful gardens.
