Bach Akademie Australia’s full orchestra and choir join forces to celebrate the sanctity of the nativity and the wonder of the Christmas season in Johann Sebastian Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, with expressive voices, pastoral woodwind and triumphant brass, creating an exultant and divine musical offering.
Over six Cantatas, Bach takes us on a journey through the Christmas story from the birth of Jesus, the visitation of the shepherds, the adoration of the Magi, the new year and finally, the Epiphany.
Artistic Director Madeleine Easton is joined by Australia’s leading specialist instrumentalists and singers in Bach’s seasonal masterpiece.
