Oakland, CA — Step into one of the East Bay’s most vibrant and unique creative communities during the Jingletown Open Studios, happening May 31 – June 1 and June 7 – 8, from 11 am to 5 pm. Presented in collaboration with East Bay Open Studios, this free, family-friendly event offers an exciting opportunity to explore the workspaces of local artists and experience the rich artistic culture of Jingletown, one of Oakland’s historic arts districts.  Home to a diverse range of artists, Jingletown opens its studio doors to the public for two weekends filled with art, live music, food, and community spirit. Visitors can browse and purchase affordable, one-of-a-kind pieces including painting, photography, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, printmaking, and mixed media art.

About Jingletown

Once a bustling industrial zone populated by Portuguese cannery workers – who inspired the neighborhood's name with the "jingling" coins in their pockets – Jingletown has transformed into a thriving arts district since the 1980s. Reclaimed warehouses and factory buildings now house working artists and galleries, making it a cultural gem of Oakland. The area is adorned with mosaic murals, community art walls, and street paintings, adding to the immersive art experience for visitors.

The Jingletown Arts and Business Community works to promote the local arts scene and build public awareness around the creative and entrepreneurial energy flourishing in the district.
