    Event description

A weekend of guided tours that take you behind the fences and into the heart of Christ Church Cathedral. Experience the neo-gothic architecture from inside the nave, learn about its history and be reminded of its stories and why it's important for Christchurch. Join us for this rare opportunity to see the Cathedral Reinstatement Project firsthand.

Guided by the team we will explore many aspects of the reinstatement as it stands, a third of the way through the project. The 11.45am tours on both the Saturday and Sunday are  "NZSL Interpreted Tours" and will be accompanied by a sign language translator.

Places are limited to 40 per tour (with a waitlist subject to demand). You will be entering a construction site so PPE (high viz and safety helmet) will be provided, please wear sturdy covered shoes. As a health and safety requirement, you must be able to walk on site unaided and be 17 years or older.

Choose your time slot and arrive promptly, late entries will be denied as we have run to schedule due to constraints on numbers.

The tours are free but we warmly welcome a koha/ donation to support the reinstatement of Christ Church Cathedral. A charitable tax-deductible donation receipt will be provided.
