Adelaide University invites you to celebrate the opening of the new Kaurna Yarning Circle at Waite Campus on Thursday, 16 April 2026, from 10:00am to 11:00am.

Built as a meeting and ceremonial space, the Yarning Circle represents the University’s commitment to supporting and sharing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and features artwork by indigenous artist Paul Herzich.

The morning will begin with a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony, followed by speeches from Professor Nicola Phillips, Vice-Chancellor and President; Professor Steve Larkin, Deputy Vice Chancellor Indigenous; Professor Jason Able, Dean of the School of Agriculture, Food & Wine; and other special guests.

This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with the Waite community, celebrate Indigenous culture, and enjoy a complementary coffee and catering.
