About This Workshop

Using the theme of Doors, we will explore the exciting possibilities of entering new spaces, leaving old ones behind, and discovering what happens when we choose to open, close, or walk through different doors in our lives and creative journeys. Through movement, storytelling, and imaginative exercises, participants will reflect on what they carry with them, what they leave behind, and how they travel through new experiences.
This interactive workshop encourages self-expression, collaboration, and creative confidence through movement-based activities and group artistic exploration. Suitable for all levels of experience, it offers a welcoming space to connect, create, and discover new possibilities together.

Dramatherapy with Elders and People with Dementia: Enabling Developmental Wellbeing is a foundational book written by Joanna Jaaniste, PhD, a highly experienced Australian dramatherapist. Published by Routledge, the book provides a strengths-based, person-centred framework for using creative arts therapies to enhance the quality of life for older adults. One of the core concepts in the book is Intelligence of Feeling: Jaaniste explores how a "feeling intelligence" remains intact even as words vanish and memories cloud due to dementia. Dramatherapy taps into this emotional awareness to soften distress and anxiety.
