OpenWeedLocator Gen2.0 Workshop
Description
OpenWeedLocator Online Workshop
Please join a workshop for the second generation of OpenWeedLocator (OWL) with an interactive, guided assembly, live demonstration and Q&A. The workshop will cover:
- The OWL: background, purpose and future
- Guided assembly and software installation
- Setting parameters and tuning the OWL
- Live demonstration on a test platform
The workshop will conclude with a Q&A session where you can ask about issues you might be facing with your OWL build, how to get started or any feedback/suggestions for the project.
What is the OWL?
The OpenWeedLocator is a low cost, DIY weed detection system that was first released in August 2021 as part of a PhD to improve the accessibility of image-based weed detection technologies. In its default arrangement it is a colour-based (green detection) system for 'green-on-brown' scenarios, generally for fallow weed control. It has since been mounted on robots, vehicles and even bicycles for DIY weed detection.
You can view the full details over at the OWL repository.

Support
The OWL will always be open-source to improve accessibility of precision agricultural tools. If you'd like to support the work, check out my Buy Me a Coffee page.
