Opportunity to engage on farm spatial data and the Agritech Data Forum
Event description
Data Interoperability has been a key topic raised in many of the recent Agritech ITP Roadshow meetings. Increasing digitisation of farm and industry data, and pressure on regulatory and environmental compliance, means that sharing data effectively between equipment, software solutions, and industry organisations is essential.
Here’s how AgriTechNZ is responding:
- We are proposing an Agritech Data Forum that will provide leadership and guide initiatives in the data interoperability area, and
- We are collaborating with the Ministry for Primary Industries and Rezare Systems on a piece of work to formalise specifications for interoperable farm spatial data.
We think the time is right for this work, and there are specifications from previous work and international groups that can be leveraged in New Zealand.
In addition to formalising the specifications, we will be looking for early-adopter organisations who could undertake an initial implementation.
You are invited to an online workshop that will provide information about both initiatives and seek your organisation’s ongoing involvement.
