Orange Community Consultation - The Centre for Volunteering

We are delighted to invite you to attend a Community Consultation with the team from The Centre for Volunteering.

Join us to discuss volunteering in the Orange Region.

The purpose of the session is for The Centre for Volunteering to consult with members of the Orange community who engage with volunteers and get an understanding of not only the extensive volunteering that takes place throughout the region but also gain an understanding into the needs and barriers facing volunteers throughout the Central West. 

These sessions are a way for community members to inform the Centre of their experiences with volunteering and have in put into the development of resources and training for volunteer managers. 

This is a small session with approximately 8 - 12 participants. 

During the session we will ask questions about volunteering, What works? What doesn't work? and have a discussions on how volunteer Managers throughout the Central West can be better supported.

These questions are listed below:

1. What are the common forms of volunteering throughout your region?
2. What are the barriers to volunteering in your region? Eg. Transport? Red Tape? Compliance? Funding?   
3. What resources/knowledge do volunteer managers in your region need to best support their volunteers? Eg. Board and Committee  training? information of Youth volunteering? 

**These questions are intended to be a starting point for broader discussion. 

This session is part of a larger series of discussion on volunteering we will be hosting across NSW with a variety of community members including people living with disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, Newly arrived Migrants as well as rural and regional community members.
