Orchard Vibration 2024
Event description
We’ve got another edition of Orchard Vibration just around the corner on August 24! This year, we have two headliners representing the continuum of Detroit house and techno - Ash Lauryn and BMG. Joining them will be Kud (trio of Gardenparty, Franklin and Patrick Conner), nite bite, Peter Marks b2b Bobby Souers and Spencer Miles.
We can’t wait to share our sixth Orchard Vibration with all of you, in our favorite 40’x40’ bucolic dancefloor. Please read on for full details on the artists, ticketing, plus a fundraiser we’re doing for the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund.
About the Headliners
Ash Lauryn balances between two worlds, with an old-school house-head foundation and a digital age suaveness, blending her skills as a deejay, writer, curator, and radio host to champion black dance music. Discovering her passion for music in her native Detroit, she was inspired to start deejaying in her current residence Atlanta. After noticing a lack of representation for Black millennials in electronic music, Ash started her blog Underground and Black, which has since grown into a wide-ranging platform covering her annual Movement Festival party, monthly NTS show, and podcast of the same name.
Her passion for music has led her across the globe, from her past residencies in Atlanta, Expressions, and Deep South, to gigs at Nowadays in New York, Panorama Bar Berlin, and Printworks London. She's played with musicians such as Joe Claussell and Moodymann and at renowned festivals like Afropunk, Dimensions, and Flow Festival Helsinki. Her writing has appeared in The Face Magazine, Mixmag, and Resident Advisor, and she recently served as Guest Editor for Beatport’s online magazine Beatportal. She has also interviewed electronic music legends Robert Hood and Honey Dijon and recently curated a line-up for Boiler Room Festival New York that included the likes of Ron Trent and Analog Soul.

BMG is the founder of cult Detroit label Interdimensional Transmissions, central figure in Ectomorph, and an absolutely legendary DJ and producer. His 25 year musical vision and near encyclopedic musical knowledge have led him to be one of the key figures and visionaries in underground US dance music. His parties (most famously, but not limited to, No Way Back and Return to the Source) are the greatest contemporary manifestation of the Detroit party continuum that reaches back to the parties that formed Detroit’s underground roots.
If you've ever been to Movement, you likely know that the ONE party not to miss is Return to the Source, which BMG started years ago. His set last year was one of my absolute favorites of 2023. Completely bonkers. It's also available on Soundcloud:
Give it a listen.
Ticketing
We have three ticketing tiers this year, based on your financial situation. $50 dollar low income tickets, $90 regular tickets, and $120 donor tickets. The donor tickets help us subsidize the low income tickets, so that hopefully anyone who wants to attend Orchard Vibration is able to attend Orchard Vibration. Please choose the tier that makes the most sense to you :)

Supporting Palestinian Relief Efforts
We’re incredibly fortunate and privileged to be able to dance freely and safely, when many people around the world don’t even have access to reliable water, food and a safe place to sleep. In recognition of this, we're going to be raising money for the Palestinian Children's Relief Fund this year.
When you purchase your tickets, you’ll have an option to donate to this cause, and we'll be matching those donations dollar-for-dollar, for the first $1,000. So, if you donate $10, it will turn into a $20 donation with our match. We're hoping that we can collectively donate $2,000 to this important relief effort.
