Travel instructions

Tram: The closest tram stop to the event entrance is Royal Melbourne Hospital / Flemington Road; which is approximately 350m from the event entrance. This tram stop is serviced by Route 57 (West Maribyrnong - Flinders Street Station & City), Route 58 (West Coburg - Toorak), and Route 59 (Airport West - Flinders Street Station & City). This tram stop is a wheelchair accessible platform stop, however please note that Route 58 is only partially serviced by low floor trams, and that routes 57 and 59 are not yet serviced by low floor trams. The next closest tram stop is Haymarket & Elizabeth St; which is also approximately 350m from the event entrance, however requires traversing additional pedestrian crossings. This is also a low floor tram stop and is serviced by Route 19 (North Coburg to Flinders Street Station), and the route is predominantly serviced by low floor trams. This stop is also serviced by Routes 57 and 59. Bus: The closest bus stop is Dowling Pl/Wreckyn St, approximately 180m from the event entrance. This stop is serviced by Route 402 (Footscray Station - East Melbourne via North Melbourne) and is operated using wheelchair accessible buses. The next closest bus stop is Royal Melbourne Hospital / Grattan St, approximately 350m from the event entrance. This stop is serviced by Route 401 (North Melbourne Station - Melbourne University Loop) which is also serviced by wheelchair accessible buses and also the 402 bus (however this has a closer stop as described above). Train: Flagstaff and Melbourne Central Stations are both approximately a 20min walk (1.4km) to the event entrance, please note that part of these walks are uphill towards the Meat Market. You can connect with the Route 58 Tram at Flagstaff Station, and the Routes 19, 57 and 59 trams at Melbourne Central Station. The tram stops outside these stations are both wheelchair accessible. North Melbourne Station is approximately a 25min (1.7km) walk to the event entrance, please note that there is a particularly steep incline between North Melbourne Station and Victoria Street. You can connect with the 401 bus described above at North Melbourne Station. Bike: Bike racks are available around the Meat Market on Blackwood Street and Courtney Street. Car: Accessible street parking spaces are available close to the event entrance, details on exact locations and costs are noted in the 'Accessible Parking' section of this page. The surrounding area has limited permit, metered and timed on-street parking. Nearby hospitals and The University of Melbourne have limited parking available for a fee. Where possible, we recommended utilising public transport options attending events as Meat Market has no public parking available on site.

Entry instructions

Enter through the large driveway located next to 7 Blackwood Street, which contains the foyer bar. This leads to The Blackwood Box. All of Meat Market’s venue spaces are accessible and D.D.A. compliant. Access to all spaces for this event (the foyer bar, performance space and bathrooms) are step free and wheelchair accessible, however, the entrance to the foyer bar has a small area of cobblestones which is slightly bumpy due to their uneven surface. An alternative entry that is also wheelchair accessible but without cobblestones is also available.
