Orchid Potting Demonstration with Stu Webb

Stu Webb has had an interest in growing orchids for the past 50 or so years. He is a member of a number of Orchid Societies in the Hunter Valley and Sydney areas. Stu has maintained a keen interest in the cultivation of orchids through his own orchid collection and for the last 7 years as orchid grower at the Hunter Region Botanic Gardens.

The Hunter Region Botanic Gardens has a significant orchid collection and Stu is part of a small and skilled orchid growing team dedicated to this pursuit.

This demonstration is designed to cover all levels of expertise, beginners are most welcome.

Topics include: media - what mix do I use?, pots, pests, fertilisers, re-potting techniques and a Q & A session. Tour of the two Orchid Houses, orchids for sale.

Why not have morning tea or lunch at the Kookaburra Cafe while you are here, and browse the Gift Shop (great ideas for early Christmas buying)? Walk the trails or have a picnic in the grounds. A great day out in an idyllic setting.
