Ordinary Heroes

Ordinary Heroes is socially inclusive musical theatre at its best.

Directed by award-winning director Warren Wills, this performance is the culmination of months of dedicated work by groups across Melbourne.

Each week, regular people have been gathering in community halls to devise, write songs and choreograph a collection of vignettes about ordinary heroes.

You will hear real life stories about the power of a parent supporting a girl growing up blind. You will see the impact of generosity from one generation of Australian migrants to the next. And you'll be bemused - and then mesmerised - by the story of an air hockey team whose plane crashes on the way to an international tournament.

The cast are all "ordinary heroes". They include people who have experienced homelessness, people living with vision loss, migrants with limited English and 30 pre-school children singing their hearts out.

With a live band on stage, enchanting choreography and a smattering of audience participation.
