THE TRANSFORMATIVE ALCHEMY OF HUMAN CONNECTION

Circling is a deep and fascinating Authentic Relating (A.R.) practice - so called because it involves people sitting in a Circle to explore presence, empathy, intuition, reflection and self-expression.
It is a pivotal practice in most of the big international A.R. communities, because it is such a naturally human process yet so profoundly transformative in results.
In Organic Circles the focus of attention shifts 'organically' from person to person. Typically it stays with one person for a while as they talk about some specific aspect of their experience, and the others offer curious questions and impact shares. Then changes to another person as the energy moves.

This event is slow-paced, supportive, social, easy-going, and is suitable for those with little or no A.R. experience. However, Circling is not recommended as someone's very first experience of self-discovery work. When we describe Circling as an effortlessly powerful practice in deep connection to self and others, that's not some gimmick. (If all of this is brand new to you come along to A.R. Games/Practices instead.)

As well as the Circling, and a break, this event includes a section of Authentic Relating practices as warm-ups, and (often) to wind-up too.

Practicalities:

Max of 12 participants, plus crew.

Authentic Relating is an internationally-established field of conscious relating skills. Developed in the 1990s in the US, and soon reaching Europe, there are now numerous AR community movements across the world. 'AR' is just a convenient name for a broad system of self-development that focuses on our natural human capacity to assist each other to evolve and heal just by being real, present and curious.

Facilitators/Crew: Anna, Kimberley & Ian have many years of experience and training in many areas of Authentic Relating, including formal qualifications in Circling. They hold a supportive and collaborative space for participants.

A Non-Hierarchical Space:

The facilitators still face their own challenging edges and are far from perfect. We honor every individual's incredibly different human journey, and hold space in circle (not 'front of house'), so we can co-create the magic of these experiences together.
There is never any 'trying to fix' and no focus on advice-giving. Such things put us in a different neurological state, which is actually the least useful state for supporting deep congruent change in our systems of self-belief.
A.R. is NOT Radical Honesty. People are always at sovereign choice. There is never any pressure to voice anything you don't wish to.

WHAT CIRCLING ISN'T:

Circling isn't therapy: It can be very helpful in processing challenges or trauma-residue, but that happens organically. Circling isn't suitable for people who aren't comfortable to potentially encounter deeper edges of themselves or others.

Circling isn't a 'System' to 'be perfect at': Participants are supported to connect with their own resources. We don't use specific maps or expectations of 'how to be'.
