We've MOVED!! This year's Summit is being held at the conveniently located Cook Student Center on the Rutgers University, New Brunswick Campus! A Free shuttle can bring you directly from the train station (NJTransit and AMTRAK). Don't let location keep you from attending. It's as easier than ever!

The NJ Composting Council and the Rutgers EcoComplex - Clean Energy Innovation Center, are pleased to announce, the 2025 Organics Waste Management Summit: “The Roadmap for Food Waste Recycling”

Organics processors, composters, haulers, regulators, academics, organics waste management professionals, sustainable community organizations, and nonprofits are invited to join the conversation about New Jersey’s organics management practices.

The Summit will host panels featuring experienced industry professionals, academics and regulators. New this year are breakout sessions to give attendees the opportunty to more fully participate in the event. Topics include

  • A Keynote on Partnerships for Successful Municipal Food Waste Diversion & Composting Programs

  • A Panel on The Power of Local: Community Driven Food Waste Reuse, Reduce, and Recycling Solutions (Triple R)

  • A Working Session on the Development of a NJ Organics Waste Recycling Guidance Document

  • Presentations on University Research Shaping the Future of Food Waste

  • Get Down and Dirty with Discussions on Compost & Healthy Soils

  • Advocacy & Policy Fireside Chat
