Webinar | A conversation with Simon Cherry and Ramsey Badawi: Origins, current progress and the future of Total Body PET

Total Body Positron Emission Tomography (TB-PET) represents a groundbreaking advancement in medical imaging, allowing researchers to visualise and understand whole-body processes with unprecedented detail. This technology enables the simultaneous capture of molecular activities from all organs, facilitating the study of complex diseases and biological processes, ultimately leading to improved diagnostic and therapeutic strategies across various fields, including oncology, neurology, and drug discovery.

We invite you to join us for the next episode in our popular Total-Body PET Webinar series.

In a departure from the usual format, this webinar will feature co-inventors of TB-PET, Professor Simon Cherry and Professor Ramsey Badawi, in conversation with Alex Burton, Outreach Lead for the National Imaging Facility (NIF). Alex will engage Simon and Ramsey in a discussion about their journey in developing TB-PET, its exceptional scientific and clinical capabilities, the most surprising applications of the technology, and their insights on what the future may hold.

This engaging session, hosted by The University of Sydney and the National Imaging Facility will additionally delve into the revolutionary world of TB-PET technology and emphasise the power of collaboration in driving innovation. Our panellists will provide insights into the future of TB-PET and its potential impact on research and healthcare. The webinar will be held online via Zoom and will feature a panel discussion followed by a 15-minute audience Q&A session.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you’re looking to incorporate TB-PET into your research, we encourage you to explore the Australian National Total Body PET Facility. Established in partnership with The University of Sydney, Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) and the National Imaging Facility (NIF), this facility offers open access for research use of our advanced TB-PET scanner. TB-PET is accessible for research studies through Sydney Imaging Core Research Facility, the University of Sydney Node of the National Imaging Facility. For more information, contact Dr Georgios Angelis.

We look forward to your participation in this exciting event!
