Orokonui Junior Ranger School Holiday Programme

Do you know a young person passionate about wildlife? Do they want to know more about what it’s like to care for the wildlife and wild places of Orokonui? Sounds like you might have an Orokonui junior ranger!

These school holidays Orokonui Ecosanctuary is running its Junior Ranger school holiday programme. These programmes designed for 7-13 year olds will give participants a taste of the day to day life of working with wildlife at the sanctuary. All participants will receive a brand new junior ranger sticker. 

Programmes run from 10:00am-12:00pm Friday, Saturday, & Sunday of the school holidays. While at Orokonui participants will take part in some behind the scenes activities, learn some of the techniques we use to monitor and look after wildlife, and gain a whole new appreciation for Orokonui and the taoka within. 

Participants must be accompanied by a supervising adult while at Orokonui. Minimum ratio of one adult to three kids applies. 

Cost is $25 per child with no charge for one accompanying adult per child, additional adults are asked to pay as per regular entry to the sanctuary. Please do this at the front desk when checking in for the programme. Price also includes day entry to Orokonui.
