Event description

What is it?

OT Sparks is a small-group supervision series for OTs who want structured reflection, sharper clinical reasoning, and practical next steps they can use immediately. Across three 90-minute, in-person sessions (max 10), we’ll work through real cases together using clear reflective models (e.g., Gibbs) and OT frameworks (PEO/PEOP). You’ll explore what’s beneath the presenting challenge, pressure-test design decisions, and finish the year with renewed momentum, wellbeing strategies, and a tidy CPD trail. 1.5 CPD hours certificate issued after each session. You can attend 1, 2, or all 3 sessions (there is a discount for buying all 3!).

SESSION 1 – 17/10/2025

Reflective OT practice: Making sense of complex cases

Every OT encounters cases that feel challenging, multi-layered, or stuck. This session provides a structured space to step back, reflect, and make sense of complexity in your practice. Through case presentations and group reflection, you’ll strengthen your clinical reasoning, uncover underlying issues beyond the surface challenges, and leave with fresh strategies. Perfect for OTs who want to build confidence, clarity, and reflective skills in tackling their toughest cases.

SESSION 2 – 14/11/2025

Design Decisions: OT Clinical Reasoning in Home Modifications

Home modifications call for more than just technical know-how — they require structured reasoning, reflection, and creativity. In this session, we’ll explore practical pathways for navigating challenging cases, balancing client goals, safety, and funding requirements. Together, we’ll dig beneath the surface to uncover the person–environment–occupation factors that truly shape clinical decisions and share strategies you can confidently apply in your own practice.

SESSION 3 – 12/12/2025

Resilient practice: Protecting wellbeing in OT

The end of the year can bring extra demands, both professionally and personally. Caseload pressures, deadlines, and the emotional load of client work can leave OTs feeling stretched thin. This reflective supervision session offers a supportive space to pause, share, and recharge. Together, we’ll explore the challenges of burnout and compassion fatigue, strengthen strategies for resilience, and uncover practical ways to maintain wellbeing. The session is designed to help you finish the year with balance and step into the new year with renewed energy and clarity.
