Description

As students of the Bachelor of Culinary Arts and Diploma of Culinary Practice, we invite you to Hākari i Otago – Feast upon Otago.

This event celebrates the richness of Otago through its kai. Enjoy a delicious evening immersed in the landscapes, sounds and flavours of Otago, while discovering the stories behind our regional kai and connecting with some of our local suppliers. Join us as we showcase a variety of dishes featuring our region’s shellfish, wild and farmed meats, nuts, grains, dairy, honey and more.

This event is part of our Manaakitaka for Kai, and Culinary Management and Leadership courses, and is student-led, with facilitation from kaiako.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Ticket cost includes $50 for five courses plus and non-alcoholic drink matches. If you would like to purchase an alcoholic beverage, a bar serving local wines, beers, and spirits will be open throughout the event.

As this event is part of Otago Polytechnic End of Year Student Showcase, there may be a videographer and/or photographer present capturing content.

FAQs

  • Where can I park?

There should be plenty of parking on in the carpark opposite Manaaki restaurant (after 5pm), or along Harbour Terrace, Union Street East or Logan Park Drive.

  • What if it is raining?

The event will be held outside in the courtyard area outside Manaaki building, 51 Harbour Terrace, and inside the restaurant. However, we all know Dunedin Spring weather, and if it is rainy or too windy we will move the entire event indoors to Manaaki Restaurant.

  • I have dietary requirements - can I still eat the kai?

There will be vegetarian and gluten free options available.
Please indicate when you purchase your ticket if you require vegetarian or gluten free options, or of any allergies e.g. shellfish, nuts.
