Join us for an engaging presentation on our unique local ecosystem, Lake Clifton and its remarkable thrombolites.
Hear from Mike Whitehead, Aquatic Ecologist and Researcher, and Robbie Jordan, DBCA Parks and Visitor Services Coordinator, as they share their knowledge and insights into this special natural environment.
5 Rivers NRM (formerly Peel Harvey Catchment Council) will also have an information stall featuring relevant local resources and information for landholders and neighbours to explore.
This is a FREE event, with light refreshments provided. Attendees will also receive a complimentary packet of local native seeds and there will be a door prize up for grabs.

Mike Whitehead, Aquatic Ecologist and Researcher, explores The Thrombolite "Recipe" - the remarkable natural processes that allows these ancient structures to form where they do. Discover what makes Lake Clifton thrombolites possible and why their continued existence depends on the maintenance of a delicate natural balance.
Robbie Jordan
Robbie Jordan, Parks & Visitor Services Coordinator with the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA), will share insights into the management of the Lake Clifton Thrombolites site, including conservation and visitor management initiatives, the boardwalk replacement project, and future plans to enhance visitor facilities and experiences.
