Astrid is coming back to Ravensthorpe this September!
Some of you may remember Astrid from when she came to show us the ropes in visual storytelling and editing in 2018.
Join in the fun, and learn for yourself how to create a visual narrative - no experience required.
Be inspired to capture a photo story
Our PhotoStories workshop program will run over 4 days and will give people off all ages and levels of experience the opportunity to learn about visual story telling and photography.
Whether you are shooting with a DSLR or a smartphone; you can all capture memorable images that tell a story.
Maximum of 20 registrations available.
Part 1- Thursday 10th, 5pm -8pm
Main Workshop, Ravensthorpe CRC
Learn how to capture atmosphere and real emotion.
Astrid will cover lighting and mood, portrait photography, capturing audio, apps, creative programs and much more in one jam-packed colourful workshop.
A light dinner is included.
Part 2 - Friday 11th, 3.30pm - 4.30pm
Community Photo Walk departing Ravensthorpe CRC - Astrid will put theory into practice and help you get perfect action shot.
Part 3 - Sat 12th, flexible timing
Astrid will arrange a visit at a time that suits you over the weekend to provide personal mentoring on your photo story.
Part 4 - Sun 13th 10am-12noon
Printing & final workshop
Learn how to edit and order your photos into a coherent story.
Astrid Volzke is a photojournalist living and working in rural Western Australia. Previously working as a full-time press photographer with the West Australian Newspaper, Astrid's passion for authentic visual storytelling has lead to her desire to teach rural communities to tell their stories.
