Description

A treasured family photograph. A favourite Arabic song. A recipe passed down through generations. Discover how your phone or tablet can help you preserve, explore and share the culture that matters to you.

Join the Australian Arab Institute for Culture and Ideas at Dukkana for a relaxed, practical afternoon celebrating Arab Australian stories and cultural heritage as part of Get Online Week 2026.

Together, we’ll explore simple ways to bring family memories into the digital world and discover Arab arts and culture online. You’ll have time to practice on your own device, ask questions and learn at your own pace. We'll also spend some time to talk about cyber safety and how AI plays into all of this.

What you’ll explore

  • Photograph and organise family photographs, keepsakes and memories.

  • Find Arab music, literature, recipes and cultural material online.

  • Practice sharing a cultural discovery or family memory with people you trust.

  • Connect with others through stories about the photographs, songs and traditions that matter to you.

We’ll also introduce artificial intelligence in plain language and practice recognising suspicious messages and AI-generated content, helping you protect your privacy while sharing and exploring online.
