Our Water Future Summit
Register your interest to attend the Our Water Future Summit?
The Summit will bring together people from across the Mount Lofty Ranges to help identify priorities for updating the region's Water Allocation Plans. We are seeking a broad range of perspectives and experiences from water users and the wider community.
To ensure a diverse mix of participants, DemocracyCo will select attendees from registered expressions of interest using a democratic lottery process designed to reflect the diversity of the community. If you are not selected, there will be other opportunities to share your views and contribute throughout the Water Allocation Plan amendment process. The information you provide when registering your interest will help us select a group of participants that reflects a diverse mix of ages, genders, locations and water use interests from across the region.
To support participation, selected community participants attending in a personal capacity can receive $110 payment to support participation and travel to the Summit. This support is not available to people attending as part of their employment or organisational role.
If you are selected to attend, we will contact you by 18 November 2026 to confirm your place at the Summit. If you have not received an email by that date, please check your junk or spam folder.
Water, Country and Culture: On-Country Learning Experience - Save the Date
Summit participants will also have the opportunity to attend an On-Country learning experience in the Langhorne Creek region prior to the Summit.
Led by Ngarrindjeri representatives alongside local landholders, the experience will explore the relationship between water, Country and culture and provide important context for later Summit discussions.
The On-Country Learning Experience will be held on the afternoon and evening of Tuesday 24th November 2026. Further event details will be provided to confirmed Summit participants.
The 'Our Water Future Summit' is being delivered by the Hills and Fleurieu Landscape Board, with support from Watertrust Australia and DemocracyCo. Watertrust Australia is the independent convener for this process, working closely with the Hills and Fleurieu Landscape Board and DemocracyCo to bring stakeholders and the community together to inform regional water planning.
