MENTAL HEALTH AND THE IMPACT OF DIGITAL STORYTELLING: A PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN BATYR AND THE YOUNG & RESILIENT RESEARCH CENTRE

Event description

It’s time to share the stories that aren’t always heard.

You’re invited to the launch of the research partnership between batyr and Western Sydney University’s Young and Resilient Research Centre!

Join us to hear from the brightest minds in youth engagement and experts in research about a new and exciting project set to improve the mental wellbeing of young people.

Over the last 18 months, batyr has worked with young people, mental health experts and researchers to design and build the OurHerd app - a brand new digital storytelling platform, with support from the Australian Government Department of Health. OurHerd allows young people to view, create and share safe, relatable and engaging stories about navigating tough times.

We’re proud to be joined by our keynote speakers to discuss the research and community impacts of digital solutions like OurHerd.

Since December, batyr has collaborated with a trial group of 50 young people to test OurHerd and give feedback on how effective it is. New stories continue to be shared each week, with almost 400 users currently engaging with the app.
