Event description
Join us for our inaugural 'Politics in the Pub'! We've gathered brilliant panelists to share insights and ignite conversation.
Our goal? Leave feeling inspired, challenged, and fired up to help shape a better democracy from our community in Jagajaga. That's why we're bringing these sharp thinkers to your local watering hole for a real chat with the community.
SPECIAL GUESTS:
We have 4 guest speakers coming to help us understand the issues and to spark great conversation for what this means for us here in Jagajaga. What question will you have?
Zoe Daniel, Former Independent Member for Goldstein, Journalist and author. Our question to Zoe to spark conversation: How do we make the system of democracy stronger?
Richard Denniss, Economist , author and public policy commentator from The Australia Institute, Our question to Richard to spark conversation: What is the real economic impact of climate change and should we make braver policy decisions?
Katherine Trebeck, Wellbeing Economy Agitator and Leader. Our question to Katherine to spark conversation: Show us how a ‘wellbeing economy’ approach helps and what traction we need on the Labor Party's Measuring What Matters initiative in Australia?
Bill Mithen, CEO Neighbourhood Economics, Geelong. Our question to Bill to spark conversation: We need a strong local economy that supports local communities, what does that look like in practice?
Come on down to the pub as we explore how we re-create a political system that is more answerable to us - the residents of Jagajaga.
