Event description

Join us for the fundraising film screening of the award winning documentary Out of Iraq!

This screening is one of the official side events of the 2025 Queer Displacements Conference.

In 2004, Ramadi was the most dangerous place on earth and the last place anyone would expect to find love. But that's what happened between an Iraqi translator working for the U.S. and an Iraqi soldier.Out of Iraq is the story of their unwavering love, against all odds.

The film screening will be followed by the panel discussion with Dr. Michael Failla, who supported Btoo Allami and Nayyef Hrebid to find safety.

This screening is organised by the Forcibly Displaced People Network. We are the national LGBTIQA+ refugee-led organisation.

The pricing is flexible. Pay what you can. All raised money will go towards our advocacy and support for LGBTIQA+ forcibly displaced people.
