Out of the Blue? No Incident Required
Description
Since 1 July 2026, the psychosocial Code of Practice is an enforceable benchmark in New South Wales. A SafeWork NSW inspector does not need a claim, a complaint or an incident to find a breach. Size is not a defence. It never was.
This first session sets out what the law asks of you, in the words you would use yourself.
What is covered
What changed on 1 July 2026, and what has actually been in force since 2022. The obligation is not new. The benchmark is
The personal duty that sits on you as an officer, separately from the duty on the business
The three businesses whose situations run through the whole series: the accountant's quarter, the Christmas counter, the front desk
The three questions an inspector asks: what did you know, what did you do, and where is it written down
On the day: an opening poll on what you already knew about the July change, and a self-scored run at the inspector's three questions. Nobody sees your answers but you.
Takeaway: a one-page plain language summary of the duty, emailed after the session with the recording and slides.
45 minutes. Free. Online via Microsoft Teams, link sent on registration.
