About the Workshop:
Touch is a fundamental part of human connection, yet our relationship with touch can be incredibly complex.
Out of Touch is a trauma-informed exploration of how our nervous system, experiences, needs, preferences, and boundaries shape the way we experience touch.
Together, we’ll build greater awareness around how we give, receive, and experience touch, while exploring regulation, consent, choice, communication, and what happens when we begin to feel ‘touched out’.
This workshop offers space to become more curious about your own relationship with touch, and understand how our historical experiences around touch may have shaped how we relate to it.

• Nurses, physicians, and medical staff

What We’ll Explore:
● Anatomy of Regulation
Explore how the nervous system shapes how we experience and respond to touch. Learn how touch can support regulation and safety or contribute to activation and withdrawal. Recognize body cues and how awareness helps us understand our responses.
● Touch Spectrum
Explore the spectrum of touch and the many ways it can be experienced. Learn how qualities, preferences, and context can shape what feels supportive, connecting, or unwanted. Consider your own needs and how your relationship with touch can shift over time.
● Attunement Toolkit
Build practical tools for navigating touch with awareness, choice, and intention. Explore consent, boundaries, communication, and ways to recognize your own cues and those of others. Develop strategies to create more responsive, respectful, and attuned experiences of touch.
● Complexities of Touch
Explore how experience, relationships, culture, and context can shape our relationship with touch. Discover why touch can feel comforting in one moment and complicated in another. Develop greater curiosity and understanding around your own unique and evolving experience of touch.
