Outdoor Hounds Hikes 2026

Welcome to Outdoor Hounds' guided trail walks for dogs and their humans across Melbourne's eastern suburbs and beyond!

Each month, new walk tickets are added to this event. Whether you're joining us for the first time or you're a regular face on the trail, this is your one place to browse and book.

What to expect

Every Outdoor Hounds walk is guided by Jenna, alongside resident trail dogs Aura, Luca and Kali - three Shepherds who know every trail in the eastern suburbs. Groups are kept deliberately small so every dog gets proper attention and every human gets to enjoy the walk.

We go to places worth going to! State forests, reservoir parklands, coastal clifftops, waterfall tracks, alpine country. Not the local park.

After your ticket purchase, you will receive a confirmation email. The walk details, including meeting point, will be sent via email a few days prior to the hike - check your spam folder if you don't see these.

Walk types

Weekend group walks (Sat/Sun): Our signature experience. A small group of dogs and their owners on a proper bush trail. Distances and difficulty vary by walk; full details are listed on each ticket. Dogs on or off lead depending on the location and the group.

Weekday group walks (Mon-Fri): Your dog's midweek adventure while you're at work. We pick up a small group of dogs, head out to a proper bush trail with Aura, Luca, and Kali as trail companions, and drop everyone home after. Overnight hikes: For the adventurous. Occasional multi-day trail walks for humans only (no dogs on national park overnights). Details and dates listed as they're added.

Special events: Snow trips, twilight walks, seasonal adventures. Added throughout the year.

Pricing

$20 per dog · humans walk free

Some walks have specific pricing; check the individual ticket for details.

Your dog needs to be

✓ Up to date with C5 vaccination
✓ Comfortable around other dogs and people (if your dog can be reactive or nervous, please contact to discuss)

What to bring

For you: sturdy shoes or boots, warm layers, waterproof jacket, water, snacks.
For your dog: lead, water and collapsible bowl, poo bags, a towel in the car.

Cancellation policy

Please cancel at least 24 hours before your walk for a full refund or credit. If we cancel due to extreme weather or unforeseen circumstances, you'll receive a full refund or credit. We'll always contact you by midday on the day before the walk if conditions change.
