Details

As part of our commitment to contributing to a more equitable world, we’ve included an optional opportunity to 'Pay The Rent', an initiative that allows non-Indigenous people to honour the Sovereignty of Aboriginal people by contributing to grassroots movements for land justice. Pay The Rent is controlled entirely by Aboriginal people and functions independently of governments or big businesses, ensuring that contributions directly support First Nations communities. While this is an important step toward a more just way of living on stolen land, it is part of a broader responsibility that includes advocacy, solidarity, and action. Participation in OO in any form, whether through presence or donation, is deeply valued. We encourage you to give only what feels right for you. Thank you for supporting in any way you can. (A note on Pay the Rent and tax deductions: Pay The Rent’s Constitution requires it to use rent solely for the purpose of promoting the self-determination, economic independence and welfare of Aboriginal people. Payments to Pay The Rent are as such not tax deductible. Pay The Rent is not a charity, it is a not-for-profit.)
