Hey there Kayaker!

On behalf of the Outdoors Society & Auckland Sea Kayaks teams we are super excited to be having you along for A Kayak Trip to Motukorea/ Browns Island.

We will meet at the St Heliers Bay beach concrete boat ramp at 8:30am for a briefing, safety check and run through of the mornings schedule. We will then launch off onto the Waitematā Harbour before berthing onto the shores of Motukorea/ Browns Island where we will then summit the island and take in the 360 degree views of Auckland. Lunch will be provided in the form of a kiwi BBQ and once everyone is full we will cruise back to St Heliers Bay beach.

We will kit you out with:

Specialist paddling gear including buoyancy aid.
Spray skirt.
Spray jacket.
Thermals (Optional).
Dry bag for cameras, phones or other belongs you would like to keep dry.

You will need to bring:

Water bottle
Shorts or leggings to kayak in (no jeans or trackpants).
Sun glasses.
Warm top.
Shoes for walking on island.
Water shoes (sandals, flip flops, aqua socks), we bring spare if you don't have.

The guides from Auckland Sea kayaks are very experienced and skilled sea kayakers with a personal commitment and passion for conservation and kayaking. Their knowledge of the area, understanding of the

weather systems and catering abilities will make your trip enjoyable and safe.

Restrictions

Weather

If the weather is unsafe for kayaking, we will postpone the trip to another date. If the new date doesn’t suit, we’ll process a full refund.
