Outfitting Jewellery III: Part One
Description
Part One of Outfitting Jewellery III at the Lancemore on Crossley can be seen as a standalone vignette or as the initial instalment of three nights. Each instalment offers objects, film and a portal for viewing. If you are interested in attending the other two sessions, follow here: Part Two and Part Three.
For the evening to run smoothly, please arrive at the hotel foyer 15 minutes before your session.
Outfitting Jewellery III is a part of a series of curious interventions between the body, objects of adornment and our built environment. They seek to extend the language of adornment from small to large scale, to see objects and bodies in new contexts.
Hotel rooms offer in-between spaces that allow a break from the world, spaces to relax, to recharge, to take a moment to ourselves. Outfitting Jewellery III looks at what objects of adornment do in these spaces, in these moments of transformation. When we step into a room, what do we reveal about ourselves, what do we hide, what happens when we find or lose things in these spaces, what is in the spirit of the object left behind?
