Outside the Valley follows J. Ryan and Hunter as they travel the world to learn about startup ecosystems outside of Silicon Valley. From Portugal to Uruguay, and Mexico City to New Zealand, the world’s next great companies are coming from places far from the garages in Palo Alto that gave rise to Google, HP, Apple, and the other Silicon Valley giants.
Great companies start with a founder. These companies would never be what they are today without their incredible founders. The story is told through their lives as they try to build a successful venture.
Andy and Maca are breaking barriers in Mexico’s new eCommerce economy with their natural beauty products company. In Uruguay, Pablo aims to improve healthcare by aiding surgeons with 3D printing and imaging. John introduces us to several founders in New Zealand that all look beyond New Zealand's borders to be successful. And, Gonçalo is part of the post 2008 Great Recession startup surge in Portugal.
Things get rocky as coronavirus strikes and tests everyone’s resolve. As we're all left wondering how the global pandemic will impact founders everywhere, we hear perspectives from Mark Cuban, Brad Feld, Marvin Liao, and others.
