OVA Pregnancy Circle Series
Connection, reflection and support for expecting mums
Pregnancy asks a lot of you. Your body is changing, your days are changing, and often the way you see yourself is changing too. It can be exciting, tender, overwhelming and joyful, sometimes all in the same afternoon.
Most of pregnancy care focuses on the physical: scans, checkups, blood tests. Those things matter. But there's often little space to simply pause, talk honestly about how you're feeling, and be around other women who understand what you're going through.
That's why we created the OVA Pregnancy Circle.
A gathering, not a class
The Pregnancy Circle is a small community gathering for pregnant women. There's nothing to perform, nothing to get right, and no need to know anyone beforehand. You can share as much or as little as you like, or simply listen.
Each evening follows a gentle rhythm:
Arrive and settle in with a warm cup of tea and a few gentle movements to help you land in your body after the week
Guided meditation to quiet the mind and make space to rest
Reflective journalling with prompts to help you explore what's coming up for you in this season
Guest speaker – each week we'll welcome a trusted practitioner, such as a midwife, doula or allied health professional, to share their knowledge and answer your questions
Connection and sharing – time to talk, listen and feel supported by women who are walking a similar path
You'll leave with practical insight from people who support women through pregnancy every day. More than that, you'll leave feeling a little more grounded, a little more connected, and a little less alone.
Who it's for
The circle is open to all pregnant women, in any trimester. Whether you've just seen two lines, you're settling into the middle months, or you're counting down the final weeks, you're warmly welcome. First pregnancy or fourth, it doesn't matter. There's a place for you here.

Meet your host

Michelle Smith
Michelle Smith is the Founder and Clinical Director of OVA Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine, and has spent her career supporting women through fertility, pregnancy, postpartum and the many hormonal shifts in between. Michelle founded OVA with a simple belief: women deserve healthcare that makes them feel heard, informed, and genuinely supported. She’s passionate about creating spaces where women can ask the questions they don’t always get time to ask in a medical appointment, better understand what’s happening in their bodies, and feel more confident navigating pregnancy and the transition into motherhood. As both a practitioner and expecting mum herself, Michelle brings warmth, clinical experience, and a refreshingly down-to-earth approach to the Pregnancy Circle.
FAQs
- How far along do I need to be to attend?
The Pregnancy Circle is designed for women at all stages of pregnancy. Whether you’ve just started sharing your news or you’re counting down the weeks until your baby arrives, you’re very welcome.
- Do I need to attend the whole series?
No, you don't. However, the series has been designed as a journey, with each session exploring a different part of pregnancy and preparing for motherhood. Attending the full series also gives you the chance to get to know the other women in your circle and build genuine connection over time.
- What happens at each Pregnancy Circle?
Each gathering will be a little different, combining special guests, open conversation and time to connect. Depending on the session, there may also be gentle movement, practical activities and other pregnancy-focused experiences. And, of course, there’ll be plenty of time to simply sit, chat and enjoy a cup of tea.
- Do I need any yoga experience?
Not at all. Any movement included in the series will be gentle, pregnancy-friendly and designed to be accessible regardless of your previous experience.
- What should I wear?
Whatever makes you feel comfortable! We recommend soft, stretchy clothing that you can comfortably sit and move in. This is definitely not an event you need to dress up for.
- Can I come if I don’t know anyone?
Absolutely! We actually expect most women will come on their own. One of the reasons we created the Pregnancy Circle was to make it easier to meet other women going through pregnancy at a similar time, without the awkwardness of having to find your own way into a new community.
- Is this like an antenatal or birth class?
Not quite. The Pregnancy Circle isn’t designed to replace antenatal education or the advice of your maternity care team. It’s a complementary space to explore pregnancy, wellbeing, preparing for motherhood and the things that don’t always fit neatly into a medical appointment.
- Can I bring my partner?
The Pregnancy Circle has been intentionally created as a space for pregnant women to connect with one another, so sessions are for attendees only rather than partners.
- I have a pregnancy complication or medical condition, can I still attend?
We’d love you to get in touch with us before booking so we can make sure the activities planned for the series are appropriate for you. Send us an email hello@ovaacupuncture.au.
