    Join Us for the Over the Hill Hiking Kick-Off Event!

    Are you ready to explore nature, improve your well-being, and make new friends? Join us for the launch of "Over the Hill Hiking", a series of invigorating hikes designed specifically for people aged 55 and over!

    📅 Date: Monday, 12th August
    🕐 Time: 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM
    📍 Location: Museum of the Great Southern, Co-Op Room

    This free information session and kick-off event will introduce you to our six-hike series led by Instructor Jamie Scally. Each hike will offer a blend of nature, wellness experiences, and social interaction, tailored to all abilities.

    What to Expect:

    • Discover the Trails: Learn about the grade 1-3 trails of the Great Southern.
    • Wellness Focus: Experience unique wellness activities designed to enhance your hike.
    • Meet & Greet: Connect with fellow hikers, bring friends, or make new ones.
    • Inclusive Environment: Enjoy a supportive and friendly atmosphere.

    Why Outdoor Recreation?

    The benefits of outdoor recreation are widely acknowledged to provide both physical and mental health benefits including resilience, as well as increased personal confidence and a general sense of well-being.

    Over time, participants can gain leadership skills, environmental awareness and First Aid skills, all while having fun and meeting peers with common interests.

    The State government through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries is a major supporter of Outdoors Great Southern in Western Australia. Sport and recreation creates vibrant, inclusive and connected WA communities.
