PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT a speed dating event! It's much more relaxed. Read description below for more info.

WHAT: 

A dating and connection event for dates, mates or referral.

• MAIN ROOM: optional large group ice-breakers followed by short 1:1 (or small group) conversations for 5-7mins to enable you to meet new people. 
• REAR COURTYARD: free-range mingling (conversation cards supplied if wanted)
• QUIET ROOM: is available for smaller, more quiet conversations

SUMMARY: 

Melbourne Comedian, Author and Broadcaster Nelly Thomas is running quarterly 'Dating and Connection' events for LGBTIQA+ folks over the age of 40 in Victoria. Nelly is the host of Dear Nelly: Sex, Relationships and Dating on the other side of 40 - an 'agony aunt' podcast where Nelly and a special guest talk about sex and relationships and take calls from listeners. One of the most common questions is from from people over 40 who don't know how to meet someone if they don't like the apps. So, she set up this event to help them - and you - on this exciting, but sometimes daunting, journey in all it’s glorious forms. Nelly works hard at each event to help people who are a bit shy or need some support and there are always 'safe people' volunteers there to lend a hand. Many people come alone and many are not experienced daters. All are welcome.Everyone under the LGBTIQA+ rainbow is welcome as long as you are over the age of 40.

WHO IS IT FOR: 

All genders and sexualities under the rainbow, as long as you're over 40.

WHAT'S THE VIBE?

Our focus will be on FUN (events), FREE AGREEMENT(between all) and FEELING comfortable (in the community).

There will be some structured activities but nothing will be forced. There will be 'chillout' and 'quiet' spaces available. Consent and Respect - of all kinds - will be paramount. There will be designated 'safe people' to give you a hand and some support if you need. Come together in a relaxed and safe space with people your own age where you might meet a date, a friend or someone you'd like to introduce to a friend.
