P.O.T. LUCK is a reading x scratch night kind of event combining the first readings of short newly commissioned works (poetry, plays, songs, stories, jokes) alongside an open mic section where anyone can get on the mic.
Nothing presented is expected to be perfect – or even rehearsed. This is an opportunity to test out new material, to show off a work-in-progress, read the rambles in your notes app, to practice performing and public speaking in a chill, judgment-free environment.
This very special edition of P.O.T. LUCK continues the tradition Sage Wilde began at Part of Things with Writers SA and Part of Things in April 2022. A tradition that has continued with events co-hosted with RYT, Our Town Berri and others across 2022 and 2023.
The P.O.T. LUCK: You Are Enough Edition is proudly presented by Part of Things as part of Mental Health Month. This event was made possible with funding from the Mental Health Coalition of SA, Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network, Our Town Berri, Riverland Community Suicide Prevention Network, and Riverland Youth Theatre.
We'll also be hosting one free in-person creative writing workshop and one free online creative writing workshop for people who want to work on something to share at P.O.T. LUCK (or other open mic opportunities).
