Ease into a golden autumn afternoon in the heart of the city with Pachanga! Sunday Vibes Fiesta!
A vibrant, community-driven celebration of Latin, ska, reggae and funk.
Expect sunshine, dancing in the street, a cracking a piñata, and infectious rhythms rolling through Civic all afternoon.
Headlining are Los Chavos, Canberra’s long-standing champions of Latin ska and reggae.For over 15 years, they’ve lit up stages with their explosive mix of Latin rhythms, horn-driven energy and rich fusion of cumbia, dub, timba, merengue and more — all built on a ska/reggae backbone that’s as danceable as it is powerful.
Supporting them are FunkyTrop, a six-piece Latin-funk force blending Afro-American funk with Latin grooves and a spirit of experimentation. Fronted by the dynamic Adanna Obinna, their sound is bold, global and deeply rhythmic — captured in their latest release Let It Go, a cross-continental explosion of Latin fire, Afro-funk groove and bilingual flow.
Outside, Raio De Sol bring the pulse with their high-energy samba street percussion, joined by DJs spinning feel-good global beats to keep the street alive between sets.

Los Chavos
Los Chavos are Canberra’s long-standing champions of Latin ska and reggae, active for over 15 years. Formed in the mid-2000s, they built a reputation for high-energy shows and socially conscious lyrics in Spanish and English. Their sound blends cumbia, dub, timba and merengue over a ska/reggae foundation. Their 2012 album SuperMeng marked a key moment in their evolution as recording artists. They’re known for uniting diverse crowds with powerful rhythms and explosive live energy.
FunkyTrop
FunkyTrop emerged from Canberra in 2017, fusing Latin grooves with Afro-American funk. The six-piece band is known for its eclectic, experimental sound and highly danceable performances. Their debut EP in 2018 introduced a bold mix of rhythms and instrumentation. Now fronted by vocalist Adanna Obinna, their sound has expanded with global influences and dynamic stage presence. Their latest release Le It Go captures a cross-cultural blend of Latin fire, Afro-funk groove and bilingual flow.
Raio De Sol
Raio De Sol is a community-driven Brazilian percussion group based in Canberra. Inspired by the energy of Rio’s samba baterias, they bring powerful, uplifting rhythms to streets and stages. The group is made up of players of all backgrounds, united through rhythm and connection. Known for their vibrant performances, they often activate public spaces and festivals. Their mission is to build community, celebrate culture and share the joy of collective music-making.
