Event description

Paekākāriki Orchard and Gardens host a 'open' community session on the first Sunday of every month. These are free, casual, hands-on 1 hour workshops that teach you garden skills while helping care for our community marakai. They are usually followed by sharing produce and socialising over a cuppa. We welcome anyone to come along and join in.

This months workshop: Winter Vege Planting and Compost

11am-1pm, Sunday 4th May.

As always we will have our POG Monthly meet-up on the first Sunday of the Month (May 4th), from 11am to 1pm at Miriona Gardens (North end of Tilley Rd , Queen Elizabeth Park)

There is a slight chill in the air, which gets us excited for winter soups and stews! Join us in planting out winter vegetables and turning the Pae Cycle Compost. This relaxed, hands-on. workshop (with gardener extraordinaire Hannah), is a great way to get inspiration about what to plant for the winter ahead. It's also a great opportunity to get all your compost questions answered by our local Soil Food Web expert Cory.

As always, workshops are:

  • free (koha welcome through Humantix ticketing),
  • for all (no experience necessary and family friendly)
  • followed by a cuppa and kai sharing, which is a lovely way to connect and share produce, cake and chat!

Workshop 11am-12pm. Cuppa 12pmish-1pm. Bring gardening gloves if you have them and some kai, produce, plants or seeds to share if you wish.

Any questions please email us at pogteam99@gmail.com.
