Program Description

California’s Private Attorneys General Act of 2004 was amended in July 2024. The PAGA allows an employee to bring a lawsuit against their employer for civil penalties, in other words, to act as a private attorney general. It is thus an important tool that encourages enforcement of California labor laws. This webinar will cover the changes that were made in 2024 and how to be prepared for the new requirements. This webinar is intended as an introduction to how to bring PAGA claims in 2025, including how recent case law affects PAGA litigation.

About the presenter

Kenneth Yoon is the principal of Yoon Law, APC in Los Angeles. He has served as a member of the California Employment Law Association’s Wage and Hour Committee since 2013 and is serving as Co-Chair for 2023-2025. His practice focuses on wage and hour class action litigation state-wide in both state and federal courts. This includes appellate practice, which has led to several influential 9th Circuit and California Court of Appeal opinions in civil procedure and wage and hour law. He has served as lead counsel on numerous certified class actions in both state and federal courts and has tried a federal class action to a successful verdict through subsequent appeal.
