PAINT: Part Two (The Rehaunt)
Event description
Since the 1930s, 7 Sargood Street has been a medical building: formerly the old Altona Hospital (alongside the site of the current community centre next door) and then a medical/endoscopy/pathology centre. Now, it's been handed over to the community, and we have a project: "rehaunting" the space to welcome in new life, new people and new creative endeavours.
We're halfway through a mural. On it, we've put the names of women who provided medical care in the town for decades, but who didn't receive much recognition for it. Now, it's time to represent the next wave of people who will be coming through the building, and the stories they bring.
Help us finish the mural and get some art up on the walls. Lunch is provided, and spaces are limited so registration is essential, but free! Join us in the Dramawerkz Office (7 Sargood St) from 10:30am - 1:30pm on September 15, to finish up this project and start the next rehaunt.
