Description

Join visual artist Alexandra Murphy for a holiday workshop specially designed for 9-15 year olds. In this hands-on session, students will bring native flora and fungi to life on fabric by studying images and models of these fantastical specimens. They’ll capture these observations of our taonga by painting onto fabric and bringing them to life with texture of stitches.

Using a mix of cotton, embroidery floss, and wool, students will learn a range of simple, visually effective stitches to highlight features on their design.
